Customer Review: Didnt help me pass yet
This book is ok but youre better off taking notes from a class or another who already passed
Customer Review: Not the “MOST COMPLETE” review text
I bought this book because it was significantly cheaper than any other review book. Boy, what a waste of money! A friend lent me the EIT review manual (twice the price) and although it is not perfect it is far, far better. Each chapter in this book seems to be written by a different author. There is no consistency in the type, style or level of review. The thermo chapter for example assumes that you remember what every symbol in every equation represents without first providing a table or list. The reason I am using this book is that I DONT remeber what u, q and w represent. After slowly trying to make sense of the chapter I skipped to the end and found a table with each symbol listed. Am I meant to tear it out so that I can use it on every page?

Some of the review is ok but I dont think any of the authors have taken the EIT in a long time. The problems seem very unlike the EIT style problems I have found online and in other review manuals.

I would NOT purchase this book again and if I could return it and get my money back I would. If all you want is a quick, cheap overview of the exam material then get this book. If you want something that provides a bit of explaination or tutoring, avoid this book. Buy from here…

Principles and Practice of Civil Engineering Review (Principles and Practice of Civil Engineering)

May 28, 2008

This efficient review follows Great Lakes Press’s unique test-prep approach of having expert professor-authors present review material in a concise “personalized review course” style. The only review that’s both succinct and uses professor-authors. 10 contributors. Contains practice problems and full reviews of each topic tested.

Since some states don’t allow problem solutions in the exam room, we separately offer the “Solutions Manual–P & P of Civil Engineering.”
Customer Review: PE Review by Potter
I read this one first, then the one by Lindeburg. There is no comparison- the Potter book has too many mistakes, outdated material, its organization does not mirror the exam’s organization like the Lindeburg book does, it is not in depth enough to be of any use. After working through the Lindeburg book, I rarely even referred to this one (and the exam was a snap).
Customer Review: Horribly outdated reference
While trying to study from this book I found many outdated references. For instance, tables and charts for the 1984 “green book” and references to the 198-something HCM. The book also has a hydraulics and hydrology slant. Even the Highway section turns into a hydralogy review loosly based on highways. Do not buy this book, instead look into the Lindeman reference.
